Maintenance Supervisor at Metsä Tissue in Mariestad

Do you want to lead an engaged team and be a key person in ensuring high operational reliability within the Future Factory in Mariestad? We are now looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who wants to combine technical expertise with operational leadership in a dynamic and high-tech production environment. Here you will have the opportunity to influence both people and processes – every day.

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you are the immediate manager of a team of skilled electricians, automation technicians, and mechanics. You are responsible for leading, distributing, and following up on the daily maintenance work and ensuring that the work is carried out safely, efficiently, and with high quality. The role is both operational and strategic: you are present in the operations while driving improvement work and contributing to the long-term development of maintenance processes.

You work closely with production, planners, engineers, and external suppliers to create stable operations, minimize disruptions, and ensure that the facility performs at its best. The role also includes developing the team's skills, strengthening work methods, and contributing to a culture where safety, collaboration, and learning are fundamental cornerstones.

The position is a permanent employment and you report to the Maintenance Manager, Mariestad.

Your main responsibilities

• Ensure that work is carried out according to applicable safety procedures and standards
• Lead, distribute, and follow up on daily maintenance work
• Support and develop the team through coaching, feedback, and skills development
• Prioritize and coordinate work orders in collaboration with planners and production
• Follow up on completed work and drive improvement initiatives for increased operational reliability
• Participate in root cause analyses and initiate improvement measures
• Contribute to the development of preventive maintenance and work methods
• Support in planning and executing major maintenance stops
• Ensure correct documentation in the maintenance system
• Actively work with skills development and staffing optimization within the team

Who are you?

You are a confident and engaged leader who thrives close to the operations and has the ability to create structure, clarity, and joy in the team. You have a good technical understanding and a natural drive to develop both people and processes, and you see the value in working long-term with skills, safety, and improvements. You will communicate internally and externally in an international environment, which requires that you have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We believe that you have:

• Experience in leadership within industry, preferably as a supervisor, team leader, or similar
• Technical background in mechanics, electrical, or automation
• Experience in maintenance work in process or paper industry is an advantage
• Good ability to communicate and collaborate across departmental boundaries
• Familiarity with maintenance systems and other digital tools
• Ability to make decisions, prioritize, and create structure in a dynamic environment
